I was lucky enough to be invited to photograph British artist Hazel Evan’s fantastically quirky 36 hour Art-a-thon project at LightHouse Poole. The Monochronium was an enchanting collection of black and white works from a collaboration of UK artists at Lighthouse Poole.
Hazel has been working closely with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO), her illustrations explore the orchestras performances with a beautifully surreal quality.
A personal highlight was seeing The Bookshelf interaction. After the success of The Bookshelf at Poole Literature Festival, 2010 Hazel invited ten artists to create art from piles of books donated by Oxfam, exhibiting themselves on plinths as works of art.
This was a brilliant use of the gallery space and I left the Lighthouse inspired by the energy of the artist, the live music and mostly the public interaction and response.
